Meet the 2021 Rearden Foundation Scholarship Recipients

Rachel Maske

Rachel graduated from Golden View Classical Academy with a 3.87 GPA. She was ranked 10th in her graduating class in 2021.

Throughout high school, she received many accolades for her various accomplishments, such as magna cum laude for Latin. She was a 2-year lettered varsity basketball player and a 1-year lettered track athlete, as well as a 2-year captain in both sports. She was nominated for and awarded the Athlete of the Quarter award multiple times as well as many individual sport awards such as MVP, Team Spirit, and All-Around Athlete. 

Rachel is now a freshman at Cedarville University in Ohio as a business management major. She has already made the Dean’s Honor List for the Cedarville University School of Business. 


Cullen Lindquist

Cullen graduated from Evergreen High School with a 4.1 GPA and in the upper 25% of his graduating class. At the end of his senior year, he was named Outstanding Male Graduate for the Class of 2021. Cullen demonstrated the importance of leadership through his two-year high school lead for the Outdoor Lab School Mount Evans as well as a Link Leader mentoring incoming freshmen.

In addition to his high school diploma, he also received the Seal of Biliteracy,  a diploma endorsed certificate that is given to a high school graduate who is proficient in two or more languages. He also participated in DECA and was a district winner and state qualifier for two consecutive years.

Cullen lettered in community service through his involvement in the Mountain Backpack Program as a Pack Leader which allowed him to give back to his community by overseeing individuals and groups to supply much needed food support to area elementary, middle and high school students.

Currently Cullen is a freshman at the University of Colorado Boulder where he is  a Leeds Deans Fellow at the Leeds School of Business studying finance. He is also a Cadet in the Air Force ROTC program with Detachment 105 and a member of the Honor Guard.


MaryKate McCarthy

MaryKate McCarthy graduated Golden View Classical Academy in 2021. Honorably named Outstanding Graduate she was awarded the privilege of delivering the graduation speech. MaryKate demonstrated leadership qualities which include her three year membership in The National Honor Society, where she held the positions of Secretary and President of her chapter. In addition, MaryKate was elected and served as Cincinnatus Head of House both her junior and senior years. She captained the JV Volleyball team, junior year, and was named “Most Spirited” athlete for her leadership example, on and off the court. Finally, MaryKate co-established and led a vocal music group, Golden View Voices, for three years.

MaryKate has received numerous honors and awards which include The Aeneas Award, Student of the Quarter, Latin; Magna Cum Laude, (multiple) Honor Roll Awards, GVCA House Championship, CSU Honors Scholarship, and The Rearden Scholarship. 

She attends Colorado State University where she plans to graduate with degrees in biomedical and mechanical engineering. Her goal is to revolutionize the design, build and components used in the manufacture of prosthetic limbs.
